Sept. 21--Everybody knows you can call Uber to get to Chicago Gourmet (Saturday and Sunday, Millennium Park). Now, it turns out, Uber might be able to get you into the sold-out event itself.
UberEATS, the company's meal-delivery service, has teamed with Chicago Gourmet to offer a takeover menu this week featuring 14 of the festival's participants (among them: Hubbard Inn, Kinmont, Oak + Char, RPM Italian, Saigon Sisters, Salero). Order off the special menu, and you might be one of 50 randomly selected customers to receive a pair of one-day tickets.
Go to ubereats.com or use the Uber app to place an order; use the code CHICAGOGOURMET in your app for a $10 discount on your first order (offer expires Friday).
A few Chicago chefs are going so far as to help with the Uber deliveries, so there's a chance your order will be chef-delivered as well as chef-prepared.
Which might leave you with the dilemma of choosing whether to chat one-on-one with a top chef, or eat your dinner while it's warm. Sometimes life hands you tough choices.
