BRIEF: Uber, American Airlines form partnership at O'Hare, 10 other airports

Feb. 11--Ride-hailing service Uber and American Airlines formed a partnership they say will help provide faster service, rider and mileage promotions and better navigation in 11 U.S. airports, including Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

"By working together, we can provide a service that allows customers to request their Uber ride to the airport in step with their itinerary and know where to meet their Uber driver after their flight lands," Scott Hinshaw, American's director of partner marketing, said in a news release.

After customers book flights online, American will send the e-ticket confirmations via email, and customers can click on the "Remind me to Uber" icon to set a reminder for their rides.

The American Airlines app can also guide customers to the nearest Uber pickup location at 11 airports. Besides O'Hare, the airports are in Charlotte, N.C.; Dallas/Fort Worth; Los Angeles; New York's LaGuardia and JFK; Philadelphia; Phoenix; San Francisco; San Jose, Calif.; and Washington, D.C.'s Reagan National.
