BRIEF: U.S. track and field championships continue after busy first day

June 26--The U.S. track and field championships continue Friday with the men's and women's 100-meter races scheduled for evening finals, but it could be hard to top the story lines from the first day of competition.

Galen Rupp won the 10,000 meters on Thursday, racing for the first time since a report by the BBC and ProPublica contended that he and coach Alberto Salazar had violated anti-doping rules in the past.

"It's been hard," Rupp, who has never tested positive, told reporters. "I'm not going to lie. It's been difficult to focus."

In other events, Buffalo Bills receiver Marquise Goodwin -- who competed in the 2012 London Olympics -- returned to the long jump and just missed a spot on the podium, finishing fourth.

That means he will not be part of the U.S. team that heads for the world championship in late August. It also means he won't miss any of the Bills' training camp.

"Football is my main deal right now," he said.

Other events scheduled for Friday include the men's high jump, women's triple jump and the completion of the decathlon.
