Nov. 24--Disney and Lucasfilm's seemingly unstoppable campaign to plaster every corner of the universe with promotions for the upcoming "Star Wars" flick "The Force Awakens" has claimed another scalp -- a cute Easter egg on Google.
Users who type "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away" into Google's search window will see their browser window transformed into the opening title sequence from the "Star Wars" films.
The search results are presented in yellow text on a black background, just like the iconic "crawl" at the start of each of the six films so far released.
Clay Bavor, Google's vice president of product management, wrote in a blog post Monday that "there are tons of Star Wars fans like me here at Google" and that they had "started thinking about what a Google tribute to these epic stories might look like."
"Wouldn't it be cool if there was some sort of Star Wars thingy in Search?" he said.
"Star Wars" fans who go to google.com/starwars can customize their Google experience by choosing "light side" or "dark side" themes, developed by Google with Disney and Lucasfilm.
Bavor hinted that other, as yet undiscovered Easter eggs are hidden in Google for fans to find.
Sadly, the Easter egg doesn't work in all browsers.
