Feb. 16--A 15-year-old girl was among at least five people wounded in shootings in Chicago Monday through early Tuesday, according to police.
The girl was on a sidewalk in the 5100 block of South Homan Avenue in Gage Park around 10 p.m. when she was shot in the shoulder, police said.
She went to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was stabilized. No other details were available.
Other shootings:
--At about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, a 22-year-old man was shot in Uptown.
He was in a car in the 900 block of West Leland Avenue when another vehicle drove up and someone inside fired shots, hitting him several times.
He ran half a block south, to the lobby of an apartment building on Sheridan Road, where the ambulance picked him up.
He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and his condition was stabilized.
As the ambulance drove down Sheridan, police taped off part of the lobby and began speaking with bystanders. A pile of the man's clothes were lying on a counter inside, next to a woman sobbing into her cellphone. Up the block, officers closed the intersection of Leland and Sheridan and temporarily marked shell casings with slips of paper.
--At about 11 p.m. Monday, a 30-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 13000 block of South Ellis Avenue in Altgeld Gardens, police said. He went to Advocate Christ Medical Center and his condition was stabilized.
The man may have accidentally shot himself, according to a law enforcement source.
--At about 12:40 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the 900 block of North Drake Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. He walked into Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his left thigh.
--Just before noon, an 18-year-old man was shot in Little Village, police said. He was shot in the thigh and groin near 27th Street and Pulaski Road about 11:55 a.m.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
The person who shot him shouted gang slogans, according to police.
