BRIEF: 2 women hurt in Southwest Side crash

Nov. 02--Two women were hurt in a three-car crash early Sunday in the Brighton Park neighborhood, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. in the 3500 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to Chicago police.

A Chrysler 200 and a Mitsubishi Spyder were exiting the Stevenson Expressway at the Kedzie Avenue exit when a Nissan Altima, which was traveling south on Kedzie, sideswiped the Chrysler and struck the rear of the Mitsubishi, police said.

A 29-year-old woman, who was driving the Nissan, and a 23-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the front, were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A 24-year-old man who was sitting in the back seat of the Nissan was taken to Stroger Hospital because of a previous injury that wasn't related to the crash, police said.

Drivers of the Chrysler and Mitsubishi cars declined medical attention.

Citations in the crash are pending, police said.
