Dec. 18--Two men were killed in separate Gresham neighborhood shootings about an hour apart Thursday, according to Chicago police.
About 4:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot to death in the 8300 block of South Ada Street, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and pronounced dead.
Christopher Keys, of the 11000 block of South Artesian Avenue, was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m. at Christ, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Another 21-year-old man was found dead outside in the 7700 block of South Winchester Avenue with gunshot wounds about 5:20 p.m. Police responded to a call of gunfire and found that man dead.
Willie Clifton, of the 7900 block of South Wood Street, was dead on the scene, according to the medical examiner's office.
The most recent non-fatal shooting was at about 11:20 p.m. Thursday, when two men were wounded at a bar in South Deering, police said.
They were in a bar in the 9600 block of South Commercial Avenue when someone walked in and started shooting, authorities said.
The bar, Frank's Tap Grill, is not a particular trouble spot, though the surrounding neighborhood is frequented by gangs. Authorities did not know whether the injured men were the intended targets of the shooting.
A 51-year-old man was shot three times in the back and taken to Advocate Christ. A 47-year-old man was grazed in the abdomen and taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital. Both their conditions were stabilized.
Two other men were wounded in separate Englewood shootings.
One, 18, was shot in the 5500 block of South Elizabeth Street about 3:30 p.m. He was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the ankle after someone emerged from an alley and opened fire, police said.
The other, 22, was wounded about 6:10 p.m. in the 6000 block of South Halsted Street. He was standing outside when someone in a passing vehicle opened fire, police said, hitting the man in his arm. He also was taken to Stroger.
No one is in custody for any of the shootings. Area South detectives are investigating each of the incidents.
