BRIEF: Two shootings in San Fernando Valley leave three wounded, one gravely

Dec. 31--A drive-by shooting in Panorama City left at least one person in grave condition Wednesday evening while a second incident nearby wounded two additional people.

The LAPD's Mission Division went on a modified tactical alert after someone in a vehicle began shooting about 7:20 p.m., said Officer Aareon Jefferson.

The people who were shot at were standing on the sidewalk near the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Plummer Street, he said.

Los Angeles City firefighters took one victim to a hospital in grave condition.

Within moments, two more people were shot on Nordoff Street. One person was seriously wounded and the other suffered minor injuries, Los Angeles Fire spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
