BRIEF: Two men hurt in car crash in Bridgeport

Feb. 23--A man was in critical condition and another man was injured during a single-car accident Sunday evening in the Bridgeport neighborhood.

The crash occurred around 5:50 p.m. in the 3500 block of South Iron Street, police said.

The driver, a 34-year-old man, struck the curb of a snow-covered embankment with his car and lost control, according to police. The car went airborne and landed upside down on its hood, police said.

The driver suffered head injuries and was listed in a critical condition at an area hospital. A 37-year-old male passenger was also injured and was in fair condition, according to police.

The incident appeared to be alcohol-related.

Police are still investigating, and no other information was immediately available.
