Oct. 10--Two burned bodies were found early Saturday inside a home destroyed by fire in Alpine in eastern San Diego County, the sheriff's department said.
Two other people were able to escape with minor injuries. When firefighters responded to the 1 a.m. call, the house "was fully engulfed in flames," according to a statement from the department.

The fire, of unknown origin, is being investigated by the sheriff's department's arson/bomb unit.
No details about the identity of those found dead in the house were released. Cause of death will be determined by the county medical examiner.
Alpine is about 30 miles east of San Diego, along the corridor of the 8 Freeway.
