BRIEF: Two critically injured in Pullman crash

April 04--Two people were in critical condition after a single-vehicle crash in the Pullman neighborhood early Saturday morning, police said.

About 3:40 a.m., a driver was heading westbound in the 500 block of East 115th Street when he crashed the vehicle he was driving into a light pole on the block, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He was listed in critical condition early Saturday.

A 22-year-old woman who was riding in the SUV was also transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Greer said.

Police could not immediately say what caused the driver to hit the pole.
