BRIEF: Two boys shot to death in Gary

Feb. 06--Two teenage boys were found shot to death inside a vehicle Friday evening in Gary in northwest Indiana, authorities said.

About 8:30 p.m., while on patrol a Gary police officer saw a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Burr Street with its driver's side door open, according to a news release from the Gary Police Department.

The officer discovered 15-year-old and 16-year-old boys, both shot to death, inside the vehicle, according to the Lake County coroner's office and the release.

The 15-year-old was identified as Mark Skipper of the 6600 block of South Kentucky Avenue in Hammond, and the 16-year-old was identified as Kasreeyal Hester of the 800 block of Burr Street in Gary, according to the coroner's office.

Both boys were pronounced dead at the scene around 9:30 p.m., the coroner's office said.
