BRIEF: Tuesday's matchup: Northern Illinois at Ohio

Line: NIU by 4.

Records: NIU 8-2, 5-1 MAC; Ohio 5-5, 3-3.

Last meeting: NIU won 23-20 on Dec. 2, 2011, in the MAC championship game in Detroit.

On the offensive: The Huskies are tied for second in the FBS in fewest turnovers, trailing only Georgia. They have lost just five fumbles and thrown two interceptions. Cameron Stingily leads NIU in rushing and has 10 touchdowns. The Huskies are 32-0 when they run the ball 45 times or more.

Getting defensive: Jason Meehan is tied for the MAC lead with seven sacks. The Huskies rank fourth in the conference and tied for 32nd nationally in turnover margin with five more takeaways than turnovers.

The number: 41. Huskies wins in their last 42 games when allowing 24 points or fewer.

The talk: Northern Illinois controls its destiny in the MAC West. If the Huskies win at Ohio and Western Michigan, they will face MAC East winner Bowling Green on Dec. 5 at Ford Field in Detroit.
