BRIEF: Tsuyoshi Wada remains question mark for Saturday

June 25--The Chicago Cubs are considering their options in the event Tsuyoshi Wada's left shoulder is too sore to start Saturday night at St. Louis.

The Cubs reported that Wada, who left after two-plus innings Monday because of cramping in his left deltoid muscle, felt better but that there was still some soreness.

"We're not prepared yet to say yes or no on the next start," manager Joe Maddon said. "We're going to wait just a while longer to evaluate all that. It was better, but we want to be very certain about that."

If Wada isn't ready, the Cubs could choose from their relievers -- specifically Edwin Jackson or Travis Wood -- to start Saturday. They also could opt for a pitcher at Triple-A Iowa, where Donn Roach is 7-1 with a 2.29 ERA in 14 starts. Roach hasn't pitched since Friday.

Jacob Turner's minor league rehab assignment was suspended because of a flare-up in his right elbow.
