Sept. 20--USC's 41-31 loss to Stanford sent the Trojans plunging in the Associated Press media and coaches' polls on Sunday.

USC fell from sixth to 19 in the AP poll and from seventh to 18th in the coaches' poll.

Ohio State, Michigan State, TCU, Mississippi and Baylor are the top five teams in the AP poll. In the coaches' poll, the top five are Ohio State, TCU, Michigan State, Baylor and Mississippi.

USC plays its first road game Saturday at Arizona State. Kick-off time is 7:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Arizona State improved to 2-1 with a 34-10 victory over New Mexico on Friday. Quarterback Mike Bercovici, who beat USC with a hail Mary pass last season, completed 22 of 37 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns against New Mexico.

USC lost at Arizona State in 2013 in what proved to be former coach Lane Kiffin's final game.
