May 04--Chicago Tribune Blackhawks beat writer Chris Hine joined Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch's "Media Circus" podcast to discuss his experiences as an openly gay sportswriter.
Hine talked about what it is like writing about gay ssues in sports, in particular his reaction to Andrew Shaw using a gay slur in Game 4 of the Hawks' playoff series against the Blues.
They also discussed what led Hine to disclose he was gay in a March column for the Tribune.
