Westlake's only losses were close games against Long Beach Poly and Santa Ana Mater Dei, so the Warriors know how to rise to a challenge. Chase Jasmin has 1,049 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns. Quarterback Malik Henry performs well against tough competition. St. Bonaventure received a lift last week with the return of running back Marcus Chambers from a foot injury. Chambers had 103 yards in the team's victory over Oaks Christian. Quarterback Ricky Town has been accurate all season. The pick: Westlake.
Woodland Hills Taft (5-3, 3-0) at Lake Balboa Birmingham (3-5, 3-0), 7 p.m.
The running of junior Sterling Salguero has helped the Patriots recover from an 0-5 start. Junior quarterback Chris Duncan has led Taft on a four-game winning streak. The winner will be champion of the West Valley League. The pick: Birmingham.
