BRIEF: Top 5 Prince moments

April 21--Prince provided fans with epic performances, head-scratching personal protests and a soundtrack for every emotion, both carnal and spiritual, over a career that spanned four decades.

As the world mourns a true rock/funk/R icon (pick any genre and he owned it) upon news that the 57-year-old was found dead Thursday morning at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota, outside Minneapolis, we look back at the moments that defined him.

1. Prince's rain-soaked Super Bowl XLI halftime show on Feb. 5, 2007 when the Chicago Bears played the Indianapolis Colts.

2. Prince's film debut in "Purple Rain" in 1984.

3. Prince paying tribute to George Harrison at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2004 along with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood and Dhani Harrison.

4. Prince writing "slave" on his face and changing his name to a symbol in protest of his label Warner Bros. Records.

5. Prince upstaging Michael Jackson and James Brown in 1983.
