BRIEF: Toddler among 4 injured during Ryan wreck

Nov. 20--A 2-year-old was among four people injured in a car crash Friday on the Dan Ryan Expressway, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The wreck happened about 1:35 p.m. in the outbound lanes near Roosevelt Road, according to fire Chief Juan Hernandez.

One vehicle containing all the victims hit a wall, said Illinois State Police Sgt. Dominick Falcone, who did not immediately have details.

Hernandez said the child was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital in fair-to-serious condition, while a 49-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman were both taken to to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious and fair-to-serious condition, respectively, Hernandez said.

Additionally, a 45-year-old man was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, Hernandez said.

According to Falcone, the injuries were all minor and none were considered life-threatening.

As of 2:45 p.m. there were no lane blockages as a result of the crash.

An EMS Plan I, which automatically sends at least six ambulances to the scene, has been canceled.
