BRIEF: Tina Fey nearly massacres hot dogs in 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot' shoot

Feb. 22--Keep Tina Fey away from baseball parks.

Fey, who trained at Second City, said she was firing an AK-47 loaded with blanks for her upcoming movie "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" when her target became obstructed by a hot dog handler.

"It was funny, we went to shoot (the gun), I was supposed to shoot across this field at these, like, barrels and stuff, and I was getting ready to finally shoot it after all the safety instructions, and then, like, right behind the barrels comes the craft service lady with, like, a tray of hot dogs," Fey told E! News in an article posted online Monday. "I was like, no!"

The dark comedy, which is slated to hit theaters March 4, is based on the 2011 memoir "The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan" by former Tribune reporter Kim Barker. Margot Robbie, Josh Charles and Billy Bob Thornton also star.

"I think the biggest challenge of the movie is trying to imagine what it would feel like in that same environment where you really, truly don't know what's going to happen because that's just got to be absolutely terrifying," Fey said.
