BRIEF: Tim Kazurinsky will go to Broadway this spring

April 06--Tim Kazurinsky, the Chicago actor and Second City alum best known for his years spent on "Saturday Night Live" and his role in the "Police Academy" films, will perform on Broadway this spring in "Act of God." A spokesman for the production announced the cast on Monday.

In the comedy by David Javerbaum, based on the book "The Last Testament: A Memoir By God," Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory") will play the weighty role of God, while Kazurinsky and Christopher Fitzgerald will be his angelic sidekicks, Gabriel and Michael. Joe Mantello, who recently staged "Airline Highway" at Steppenwolf Theatre and on Broadway, will direct the production.

Kazurinsky was last seen on a Chicago stage in "Old Jews Telling Jokes" at the Royal George Theatre.

"Act of God" begins performances on Broadway on May 5 at Studio 54, 254 W. 54th St. in New York, with opening night set for May 28.
