BRIEF: Tim Jennings calls final meeting with Marc Trestman 'weird'

Dec. 29--Veteran Chicago Bears cornerback Tim Jennings described Monday morning's team meeting with Marc Trestman as "weird," after the second-year head coach was fired. "I can honestly say it wasn't as heartbreaking as it was when Lovie (Smith) left (after the 2012 season). But it's always a sour feeling when you lose a guy," Jennings said. "Even when a guy is gone that you spent all of your sweat and tears with, it's always heart-breaking. But we have a great group of guys and veterans that know that this is the nature of the game. This is the business of the game, changes are going to be made if you want to be successful." Trestman, who was 13-19 in two seasons as head coach, was fired along with general manager Phil Emery. "Coach (Trestman) was upbeat about it. He was positive about his next move, his next position," Jennings said. "He was real high on the guys who were in the locker room and that he had a great group of guys. He wished us all the best."

Trestman wishes Bears players well
