BRIEF: Tiger Woods falls to No. 56 in world golf rankings

Feb. 02--The bad news continues for Tiger Woods.

Three days after shooting an 82 in Phoenix -- the worst round of his pro career -- the former No. 1 player saw his world ranking drop to No. 56.

That's his lowest spot in more than three years and it puts him in jeopardy of missing the upcoming WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral, Fla.

"I have to continue with the process," Woods said after missing the cut at the Phoenix Open. "I've been here before."

The last time he fell out of the Top 50, he responded with a victory at the World Challenge, his annual charity event.

Woods is scheduled to play the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in La Jolla this week.
