Aug. 13--Big Gay Ice Cream, a New York City sensation, will visit Chicago as part of an ice cream social with Mindy Segal and Bang Bang Pie Biscuits.
Tickets, $10, are available now (at brownpapertickets.com) for the event, which will take place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 30 on Bang Bang's patio (2051 N. California Ave.).
The event will include ice cream sandwiches, made with Big Gay Ice Cream's signature ice cream and Mindy Segal's cookies; Gobbler sundaes, a popular Big Gay menu item featuring vanilla soft serve mixed with either pumpkin butter and maple syrup or apple butter and bourbon butterscotch, plus pie pieces and whipped cream; and Bang Bang pies a la mode. Three Floyds Brewery will be on hand, pouring its new Mokolo Stout.
Guests will be able to purchase signed copies of Segal's "Cookie Love" cookbook and the new "Big Gay Ice Cream Cookbook;" there is a 20 percent discount for books bought on the ticket site.
