BRIEF: Three Chicagoland contestants compete in 'Cutthroat Kitchen' tourney

June 01--Three contestants from Chicagoland are competing in a "time warp tournament" on the Food Network series "Cutthroat Kitchen."

Adia Benson, of Lake Forest, cooks in a 1970s disco-themed challenge set to air June 15, while two contenders from Chicago, Won Kim and Elizabeth Solheim, are scheduled to be featured June 22 in a 1980s-themed battle to cook Chinese chicken salad.

Sixteen contestants from around the country battle to win up to $50,000. Each of the five episodes will show four chefs fighting to make the best version of an iconic dish of a particular decade, starting with an all-American breakfast from the 1950s.

The tournament premieres 8 p.m. Wednesday.
