BRIEF: The Smashing Pumpkins to play sold-out show at Thalia Hall

Nov. 24--Tickets went on sale at Noon Monday for a surprise show by The Smashing Pumpkins Wednesday, Thanksgiving eve, at the relatively intimate Thalia Hall.

Tickets for the show sold out quickly at $51 each. The current iteration of frontman Billy Corgan's band includes Jeff Schroeder, Mark Stoermer of The Killers and Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine. The band is doing "a series of one of a kind shows," according to Thalia Hall, in support of the record "Monuments to an Elegy," out Dec. 9.
