June 12--There's a big reason to arrive early for Monday's Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
The Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers is scheduled to perform by Wrigley Field's Captain Morgan Club prior to the Cubs-Indians game, on behalf of the city of Las Vegas's "Vegas Season" campaign. The Sin City native -- who released his second solo album, "The Desired Effect," last month -- is also expected to sing the 7th Inning Stretch during the game.
The open-to-the-public Vegas Season pop-up will include a gold-plated ice cream truck serving alcohol-infused ice cream and food samples from Shawn McClain, chef at Las Vegas' Sage and Five50 Pizza Bar and Chicago's Green Zebra. McClain is expected to throw out the first pitch before the game.
(Did Flowers turn down the first pitch?)
Flowers will be back in Chicago for his solo concert at Riviera Theatre Sept. 11. He and his Killers bandmates have headlined Lollapalooza in Grant Park twice.
