Nov. 26--Weather officials are expecting periods of moderate to heavy rainfall in portions of northeast and central Illinois, and Northwest Indiana during the Thanksgiving holiday.
According to the National Weather Service, rainfall is expected to start Thursday afternoon and carry into the night. The combination of steady rain and melting snow may cause possible flooding in some rivers, officials said. The rise in river levels and possible flooding may continue into the weekend.
Today's highs were expected to reach 60 degrees, with a 100 percent chance of rain and areas of fog in the area Thursday night, officials said.
Temperatures are expected to drop to about 45 degrees Friday, with a chance of rain on Black Friday.
