Dec. 04--To celebrate his 15 sold-out Chicago stand-up sets, comedian Dave Chappelle will host a "juke joint" show that's billed as part concert, part comedy Tuesday at Thalia Hall, with tickets going on sale Friday at 3 p.m.
"Inspired by music born in the juke joints of America's Deep South, Chappelle takes you on a trip into his personal playlist ranging from Coltrane to Nirvana," according to the press release.
The show, which features harmonica player Fr餩ric Yonnet and hip-hop DJ D-Nice, is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Chappelle is slated to wrap up his eight-night residency at Thalia Hall on Monday.
Chappelle's no-cellphone policy will also be in effect at Tuesday's show to prevent video of the show from circulating on the Internet. Patrons can leave their phones at home or in the car or place them in a pouch that's locked when they enter Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport St.
Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster.
