Oct. 31--A 17-year-old boy was shot in the head in the Morgan Park neighborhood Thursday afternoon, according to police.
The teen was shot in the 1700 block of West Montvale Avenue about 4:20 p.m., said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago police spokeswoman.
That is about a block south and east of Morgan Park High School in a part of the neighborhood adjacent to train tracks and Interstate 57.
He is in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Lemmon said.
At least four people were shot since Thursday evening on the South and West sides.
A 30-year-old man was shot in Pilsen on the Near West Side about midnight.
The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 2000 block of South Paulina Street at 11:55 p.m. when a gunman nearby opened fire, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.
The man was shot in the left foot and taken to John H. Stroger Hospital in good condition, Alfaro said.
About 8:30 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot in the 3900 block of South Wentworth Avenue in the Fuller Park neighborhood.
The man was shot in the back, buttocks, shoulder and arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition stabilized, Alfaro said.
Another 28-year-old man walked into the University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound about 6:30 p.m., police said.
He had been shot in the 5400 block of South Federal Street.
The man had a leg wound and was in stable condition, police said.
About 5:30 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in the right leg in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. He walked into Rush Oak Park Hospital. The shooting happened in the 1100 block of North Springfield Avenue, police said.
No one was in custody in connection with the shootings as of Thursday evening, police said.
