Dec. 22--A teen was fatally wounded Monday morning in a shooting on the Southwest Side in the city's Clearing neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 10:30 a.m. on the 5500 block of West 63rd Place, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon, citing preliminary reports.
The victim, 18, was shot twice in his chest and was initially taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead, said Lemmon.
Preliminary reports indicated the shooting may have been gang-related.
No one was in custody Monday afternoon and police were investigating.
