Jan. 05--An 18-year-old woman was hit by a car in the Chinatown neighborhood Monday afternoon.

She was hit in the 2200 block of South Wentworth Avenue about 1 p.m., Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said.

The woman was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford. She was in critical condition at Stroger following the accident, Lemmon said.

The driver stayed at the scene after the woman was hit, Lemmon said.
