Dec. 08--A teenage boy was fatally shot in Compton early Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
The L.A. County Coroner's Department identified the victim as Latrell Turner, 16.
"He was just walking home from church," Turner's mother, Regina Dixon, told NBC LA. "They shot my baby."
Turner was shot in the 1500 block of East Queensdale Street and pronounced dead at the scene at 12:35 p.m., the Sheriff's Department said.
No other information was available.
