Oct. 19--"Chicago Fire" star Taylor Kinney called Chicago home and challenged Steve Harvey to take a dip in Lake Michigan with him this winter.
"I heard you did the Polar Plunge here in Chicago," Harvey said to Kinney in Monday's episode of Harvey's talk show.
Kinney, his fianc饠Lady Gaga and Vince Vaughn participated in the Polar Plunge earlier this year. Jimmy Fallon jumped into the water by North Avenue Beach last year after losing a bet with Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Funds raised go to Special Olympics Illinois.
Kinney said he would spend $1,000 to sponsor Harvey's participation in next year's Polar Plunge, scheduled for March 6. Kinney told Harvey he could wear a wetsuit to take the plunge.
"Man, I'm going to need a wetsuit, a helmet, a life vest and a damn boat," Harvey said.
Harvey, who films his talk show in town, asked Kinney how he liked living in Chicago. "Chicago Fire" films in the city.
"Been loving it," Kinney said. He told a story about how he drove two hours to Chicago after an event in Champaign because he missed the city, which he calls home.
