March 21--You say ceviche, I say cebiche ...
Spanish and Peruvian cuisines will meld in a one-time dinner, a collaboration between mfk and Tanta restaurants, at 7 p.m. April 12 at mfk (432 W. Diversey Parkway, 773-857-2540).
Only 30 seats will be sold for the dinner; tickets, $80 (beverage, tax, tip additional) are available by calling mfk.
Chefs Jesus Delgado (Tanta) and Danny Mejia (mfk) will collaborate on a six-course dinner that, in the words of mfk co-owner Scott Worsham, will be "a somewhat langorous, communal affair." Among other things, this means that the 7 p.m. dinner will be the only seating that night.
Dinner will start with some "amuse bouche thingies" (I'm quoting the menu), followed by six Peruvian- and Spanish-inspired courses, concluding with Basque cake (mfk's signature dessert) and alfajores (South American cookies).
This one will sell out in no time, I predict.
