BRIEF: Sweet Pete's opens first Chicago-area store in Lake Forest

Nov. 09--Sweet Pete's, the specialty candy store backed by entrepreneur and reality TV star Marcus Lemonis, has opened its first Chicago-area location in Lake Forest.

The location at Market Square, formerly a Jolly Good Fellows Sweet Boutique, has been undergoing renovations since August. It was originally scheduled to open in late September.

Lemonis initially partnered with the Jacksonville, Fla.-based company on his CNBC reality series "The Profit," when the Chicago businessman helped owners Pete and Allison Behringer expand their operations and product offerings. Sweet Pete's was founded in 2010.

The Lake Forest store opening marks the beginning of Sweet Pete's national expansion. The store also features a dessert bar.
