BRIEF: Suspended FSU QB De'Andre Johnson shown striking woman in released video

July 07--Video of FSU QB De'Andre Johnson striking a woman was released by the state attorney's office.

Johnson, a freshman at FSU, was charged with misdemeanor battery for punching a woman in a Tallahassee bar June 24. The woman, according to the summary of an incident report released by the Tallahassee Police Department, had bruising under her left eye, swelling to her left cheek and upper lip, and a small cut on her nose.

Video of the incident, first obtained by the Tallahassee Democrat, appears to confirm the report. Johnson is seen punching the woman in the face with his right first after the two engaged in shoving for several seconds at the bar of a nightclub near FSU's campus, night club, Yiannis.

Johnson, 19, was suspended indefinitely by FSU in June for an unspecified violation of team rules. A school official told the Sentinel last week Johnson's status with the team had not changed after he was charged by the state attorney's office.
