April 09--FBI officials are investigating two separate bank robberies that happened in Chicago on Friday, officials said.
In the first bank robbery a Chase Bank branch at 2228 S. Western Ave., was robbed at 11 a.m., according to FBI officials.
In that robbery the bank robber was armed and displayed a weapon, according to the FBI.
He is described as a black man, between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He is described as weighing between 180 and 200 pounds and is in his 40s or 50s. He was wearing a black jacket and red vest, according to the FBI.
In a separate incident the Bank of America branch at 135 S. LaSalle St. was robbed at 1:22 p.m.
In that case, the suspect was described as a white man with a slender build and unshaven face. He is described as being between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and a blue outer vest, a dark colored cap and dark colored pants, according to the FBI.
The suspect in the Bank of America robbery is also suspected in the robbery of the Chase Bank branch at 2 N. LaSalle St. at 12:14 p.m. on Thursday. April 7.
