BRIEF: Suspect in West Side killing arrested at downtown bus station

Nov. 11--A man has been taken into custody at a downtown bus station in the killing of a 42-year-old man who died after a fight early Wednesday in the South Austin neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Detectives are treating the death as a homicide.

Police responded about 6:30 a.m. to a battery in progress inside an apartment in the 800 block of North Central Avenue. They found the man unresponsive and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect in the killing was taken into custody Wednesday morning at the downtown Greyhound station, 630 W. Harriston St., authorities said.
