March 21--Jerry Sands hit two home runs to lift the White Sox to a 6-2 victory over the Athletics at Hohokam Stadium on Sunday. Sands hit a two-run shot in the first off Sean Manaea and a solo shot in the seventh off Zach Neal.
At the plate: Jimmy Rollins hit the go-ahead RBI single in the sixth, driving in Jacob May, who had singled.
On the mound: Right-hander Jacob Turner gave up two earned runs on four hits with three walks and a strikeout in two innings.
B side: Left-hander Jose Quintana pitched in a B game to avoid from the A's, who host the Sox in the first series of the season. He gave up five hits over six scoreless innings, with two walks and three strikeouts.
Key number: .483 -- spring batting average of Matt Davidson, who went 3-for-4 Sunday.
