BRIEF: 'Stupid F---ing Bird' will fly again

April 24--Sideshow Theatre Company's "Stupid F---ing Bird" will return this summer in a commercial production on a bigger stage, a spokeswoman for the show announced Friday.

Sideshow's staging of Aaron Posner's contemporary adaptation of "The Seagull" by Anton Chekhov first played Victory Gardens' Richard Christiansen Theater in summer 2014, and was much lauded. The Tribune's Chris Jones said it provided "sweet and oft-hilarious relief for anyone who has sat through way too many shattering productions of the fragile plays of Anton Chekhov."

This new remount will take place downstairs in the much larger Zacek McVay Theater.

"Stupid F---ing Bird," produced by Carlisle Hart, LLC, will feature the same cast: Matt Fletcher, Nina O'Keefe, Nate Whelden, Katy Carolina Collins, Cody Proctor, Stacy Stoltz and Norm Woodel, with direction by Jonathan L Green.

Performances begin July 23 at Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave., and continue through August 30. Tickets are now on sale at victorygardens.org.
