April 27--A block of South State Street was closed overnight after bricks fell from a high-rise building in the Loop, police said.
Police were notified that debris fell from the top of a building in the 200 block of South State Street about 8:40 p.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported, police said.
As of 7:30 a.m. Monday, the sidewalk and all southbound lanes on State Street remained closed between Jackson Boulevard and Adams Street, police said.
Building inspectors were scheduled to look at the high-rise Monday.
