June 04--Steven Soderbergh's "The Girlfriend Experience" is scheduled to briefly film in Chicago next week and is in need of extras.
The Starz drama -- which is based on Soderbergh's 2009 low-budget film starring former adult film star Sasha Grey as a New York prostitute -- is looking for fit and attractive people 20-35 years old for a pool party scene and people in their 30s to play restaurant staff and upscale restaurant patrons. The pool party scene will likely take place Tuesday and the restaurant scene will likely take place Wednesday, according to 4 Star Casting's Facebook page.
A Chicago Film Office spokesperson said on Thursday that "The Girlfriend Experience" is scheduled to shoot in Chicago Monday through June 11. Variety reported that Riley Keough ("Mad Max: Fury Road") will play a University of Chicago law student and law firm intern who gets involved in a service known as GFE (Girlfriend Experience), which involves men paying for her time.
Soderbergh -- who filmed 2011's "Contagion" in Chicago -- is executive producing the 13-episode anthology series. He directed Keough in 2012's "Magic Mike."
