March 11--The long-awaited debut of Stephanie Izard's Chinese concept, Duck Duck Goat (857 W. Fulton Market) may occur before the month is out.
Izard isn't committing to a specific date just yet, but the kitchen crew is training, the decor is in, and Izard seems certain that opening day will take place this month.
We still don't know many details about the place, except that the interior is broken up into several dining environments, each with a unique decor.
"The space is beautiful, I think," she says of the new interiors. "People walk around just mesmerized; each room has a different look, and you can see kitchen action from every room."
The lucky few who grabbed tickets for Izard's pop-up preview dinners (held in Little Goat's private dining room) have an inkling what to expect. For the rest of us: Handmade noodles. In-house dumplings. Fun takes on fried rice; elevated interpretations of Chinese classics.
And we're only going to have to wait a week or two more.
