May 09--StarKid Productions announced Monday that it will present "Firebringer," its 10th original musical, in Chicago this summer.
The company, known best for the viral hit "A Very Potter Musical" (which starred Darren Criss), "Starship" and "Trail to Oregon," will premiere its latest musical, about a cave-person who stumbles upon humankind's greatest discovery, at Stage 773.
The cast of the musical comedy includes StarKid regulars Meredith Stepien, Lauren Lopez, Joey Richter, Joseph Walker, Denise Donovan, Jaime Lyn Beatty, Brian Holden and Rachael Soglin, along with newcomers Jamie K. Burns, Lauren Walker and Tiffany Williams. The show is written by Nick Lang, Matt Lang and Holden with music by Stepien and Mark Swiderski. Julia Albain and Nick Lang will direct.
"Firebringer" is to run July 6-Aug. 7 at Stage 773, 1225. W. Belmont Ave.
