Oct. 13--Chicagoans will get another shot at seeing -- and having photographs taken with -- the Stanley Cup when the hockey championship trophy makes an appearance at the Field Museum Wednesday night. The visit is credited to Blackhawks chairman Rocky Wirtz, a Field Museum trustee.
Won, of course, by the Wirtz's Hawks during the 2014-2015 National Hockey League season, the cup will be on display in the central Stanley Field Hall from 7 to 10 p.m. during the museum's special late hours. Photos will be professionally taken -- no selfies or friend shots to slow up the line -- and people will get a passcode to download their shot. Regular museum entry is required.
Once guests are inside, the Stanley Cup photo opportunity is available on a first come-first served basis. Other museum exhibits will close at 9 p.m.
