BRIEF: Standoff with Burbank police ends with man arrested

Feb. 18--A two-hour-long standoff in Burbank between police and a man inside a stolen car ended Tuesday when the man, clad in only red shorts, exited the car and was arrested.

Shortly after 3 p.m., a man inside a stolen vehicle refused to get out of the car when officers stopped him near the intersection of Third Street and Magnolia Boulevard, according to the Burbank Police Department.

SWAT and mental health evaluation teams arrived to coax the man out of the vehicle, said Lt. Eddie Ruiz.

The man, whose name and booking information was not released, exited the car around 5 p.m. and was taken into custody.
