BRIEF: Stalled freight train causing delays on Metra's Rock Island line

Feb. 12--A disabled freight train was causing delays on Metra's Rock Island District afternoon rush-hour trains, according to the commuter rail agency.

The freight was disabled near 16th Street in Chicago.

Outbound train 603, scheduled to arrive at the Vermont Street station in Blue Island at 3:10 p.m., was expected to be up to 55 minutes late, according to Metra's website.

Also, outbound train 405, which was scheduled to depart Chicago's LaSalle Street Station at 2:55 p.m., was delayed leaving the station because of the stalled freight and was expected to arrive in Joliet up to 26 minutes late.
