BRIEF: Stage Left announces 2015-16 season

May 08--Stage Left Theatre announced its 2015-16 season on Friday. All three politically charged productions will be performed at Theater Wit in Lakeview.

The roll begins with "The Firestorm" (Oct. 24-Nov. 29) by Meridith Freidman. In the drama, an Ohio senator running for governor attempts to use his interracial marriage for political gain. The show will be directed by Drew Martin.

Christopher Chen's bluntly named "Mutt" (Jan. 9-Feb. 14), a co-production with Red Tape Theatre, is set in motion by the Republican party choosing a 2016 presidential candidate of mixed Asian decent. Vanessa Stalling will direct the production.

Last is a documentary drama called "The Body of an American" (May 14-June 19, 2016) by Dan O'Brien, directed by Jason A. Fleece. The drama is a two-hander based on the playwright's actual experiences venturing to some of the world's most dangerous places.

Theater Wit is located at 1229 W. Belmont Ave.
