BRIEF: Spiaggia ditches a la carte for tasting menus only

Aug. 17--The fix is in. Four-star Spiaggia (980 N. Michigan Ave., 312-280-2780) has switched to a prezzo fisso (or prix-fixe, or fixed-price) format.

Chef Tony Mantuano will offer 7- and 14-course menus, priced at $95 and $165, respectively. Sommelier and beverage director Rachael Lowe will create wine pairings for each menu. Last month, the restaurant made the cover of Wine Enthusiast as one of the magazine's 100 best wine restaurants in America.

Limited a la carte offerings will remain available at Spiaggia's bar and lounge areas.

Mantuano also just reopened the more casual Cafe Spiaggia, which remains a la carte.
